A my mum works in a primary school I got my mum to ask a few parents about their thoughts on the education system currently and my app.

The response to my proposal was surprising uplifting as all parents agreed that an app like this will help children and encourage them. They thought the design was clever and simple to understand and that it suits children (I think they’re just being polite).

One said that she has a very shy son who doesn’t have learning difficulties so senco doesn’t help him, but when he does need help he’s too shy to approach his teacher.

Uhero App XD!

This is a rough outline on how the app would work. I tried to make the buttons easy to click whilst keeping a consistent look/feel to the app.

I’ve added a ‘+ subjects’ page for subjects I feel as though education should optionally offer.

It will have the same look on iPads, and can be turned landscape.
(Most of the mini games will be landscape)

As children can make a digital version of them self on the game I wanted to put my focus in making the characters as relatable as I can. This app will have many skin shades available and different hair types. In the future it will possibly have cultural clothes and accessories. For example, turbans and headscarfs for children who want to add that to their character.

Attempting to fix the logo

uhero logo

I have tried to design a better logo than the last one.
The typeface used: Shuriken Boy (found on TypeKit)

With the typeface I duplicated it and blended it together and added an offset path. A light pink and blue is to target children and both genders. The yellow halo is added because there is super powers in the game, i’m probably going to use an outline on the Halo to make it match the type. Yellow, blue, and red are some of the most common colours used on comic books and heroes so I thought i’d make it similar.

Logo progress

Process of trying to make a final logo:
The top logo on the left is what I started with and tried to develop it from there.
I tried to experiment with different styles and colours and different placements of the halo, it started off looking really bad.

I experimented more with strokes and the level of 3d it looks.
Other attempts of logos

Inspirations of the logo are mostly from other children’s games such as: ‘RelationShapes’, and ‘My Backpack’ both apps for children educating them in shapes and digital reading.
This is just so I can attempt on making it as close to my target audience as possible, as well as making it suit the games style.
